I can't say I've ever had a really bad experience attending a wedding. I did attend one last summer where my date and I were placed in a side room at the reception, and we couldn't see or hear anything that was happening in the main room—speeches, first dances, none of it. We weren't very close with the couple though, and luckily, we were in good company at our table, so it didn't rain on our parade too much.
